The kickoff reception for the Cambridge Housing Assistance Fund's
5th Anniversary fall benefit concert will be held on Thursday, April
3, from 5:30 - 7:30 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, 5 Cambridge
Parkway, East Cambridge.
Potential supporters, contributors and volunteers are invited to
join Cambridge business and community leaders, as well as dedicated
people from many aspects of Cambridge life, who are working with the
Cambridge Community of Realtors in its efforts to alleviate
homelessness.
"The commitment and leadership of CHAF in helping to end
homelessness has never been more relevant than in today's housing
environment," said James F. Dwinell III, Chairman and CEO of
Cambridge Trust Company. "Both Joe (Roller) and I are honored to
co-chair CHAF's 5th Anniversary Benefit." "We are confident area
businesses and individuals will be generous again this year as we
strive for our goal to raise $150,000," said Joseph V. Roller II,
the bank's President.
This year's exciting fall benefit will feature a six-time Grammy
nominee vocalist and Cambridge native, who will create a live TV
video of her performance. We will announce her name at the Kick-Off
and show a short music video!
CHAF's role in providing assistance with rental startup costs to
homeless and near homeless families and individuals is more
important than ever. For an average grant of $800 (or $350/child),
CHAF can help one family move into a home. Since 1999, CHAF has
assisted nearly 400 households. CHAF's 2003 goal is to assist 100
more families by raising $150,000 at its fall benefit.
CHAF invites you to join us on April 3rd to see how you can help, to
learn more about CHAF and to hear more about this year's exciting
concert. Please RSVP to 617-864-8892 ext. 244 or to David.Pap@NEMoves.com.
Parking is available at the Galleria Mall or at the hotel for $5.
