Dessert Competition, Dinner, Wine, & Dancing while Helping the Homeless!
Join the fun at this unique annual party and see what the buzz is all about! The Cambridge Housing Assistance Fund proudly presents the fourth annual "Home Sweet Home" dessert tasting and competition on Saturday night, October 22nd, 2011 at the Cambridge Hyatt Regency Hotel's Presidential Ballroom. This spectacular evening has been called the "funnest" charity event of the year and is re-attended by the majority of our guests who invite their friends. Last year, the event was a sell out!
Billy Costa (NECN's TV Diner) hosts Home Sweet Home which opens doors for the homeless by bringing together some of the area's best dessert chefs and restaurants from Boston, Cambridge and surrounding areas. In addition to the food and competition, dance to the very popular Love Dogs, tastes the wine (VIP ticket required) and participate in the raffles and auctions in a very cool, relaxing lounge atmosphere (staging provided by CORT Furniture, lighting by Pure Energy Entertainment, Flowers by Coady Florists and Whole Foods Market). This fabulous culinary event is hosted by Chef Robert Daugherty of Zephyr on the Charles at the Cambridge Hyatt Regency.
Our Celebrity Judges for the 2011 Professional Dessert Competition are: Annie Copps (Food and Wine writer; host of WGBH's "Daily Dish; and regular contributor to NBC's "Today Show"), Andrew Rimas (Editor, The Improper Bostonian), Amy Traverso (Senior Lifestyle Editor at Yankee Magazine) and Jill Epstein (Publisher of Where to Eat Boston).
